Dubai AC repair is reported at AED 150-1,500+, depending on diagnosis, parts and access. A water leak from the indoor unit is a smaller job at AED 150-350, and the diagnostic visit itself is AED 100-200.
Why do published ranges disagree?
They measure different things. The same publisher lists Dubai repairs at AED 150-1,500+ in its repair guide and at AED 150-650 in its cost calculator. Neither is wrong. The narrow range describes the common visit where a technician fixes something without an expensive part. The wide one includes the jobs where a part is replaced.

When a company quotes you a number, the useful question is which of those bars it belongs to. A quote that lands at the top of the chart should come with a named part.
What does the call-out buy?
A visit, a diagnosis, and usually an hour of labour at around AED 150 an hour. Ask whether the call-out fee is credited against the repair if you go ahead. Many companies do that and few volunteer it. Outside working hours the figure climbs: contract holders are quoted AED 100-300 for an after-hours call-out, and non-contract callers rarely do better at midnight in August.
Water dripping from the indoor unit
This is the most common Dubai call and usually the cheapest. A blocked drain line backs up into the pan and the water finds the ceiling. A flush is AED 100-250 per unit, and the repair as a whole is AED 150-350.
It is also the fault that gets expensive through delay. Water sitting in a ceiling void for a fortnight turns a drain flush into a plasterboard job, and in a rented flat it turns a maintenance question into a damage argument.
Weak cooling: repair, clean, or gas?
All three feel the same at the vent. In cost order, start with cleaning: a clogged filter or a fouled coil is the likeliest cause and the cheapest to fix, with prices in our Dubai service cost guide. Refrigerant comes next, and the gas refill guide explains why a unit that needs gas repeatedly needs a leak repair instead. A failed fan motor or compressor is last, and that is where the top of the repair range lives.
We have not yet verified a published price range for replacing a full split system in Dubai, so this guide does not give one. When a source we can check publishes it, it goes here with its date.
Who pays if you are renting?
By default, the landlord. Dubai's Law No. 26 of 2007 regulates the relationship between landlords and tenants in the Emirate of Dubai, and under it the landlord carries maintenance and repairs that affect your use of the home unless the tenancy contract says otherwise. Before you approve a repair, read who pays for AC repairs in a Dubai rental, because approving it yourself can be what makes it yours to pay.
